It’s time to pick up the latest fundraiser products so I thought I would write a little about fundraisers. Do you like them? I’m going to be honest – I hate them! It’s always the same thing – wrapping paper, cookie dough, Entertainment books and magazine subscriptions.
I’ve steered away from bringing the nice glossy fundraising catalog into work and trapping my co-workers in their cubicles until they finally decide to buy something they don’t need or even don’t want. I will ask family if they are interested in purchasing any of the items. I don’t pressure them.
Why don’t they look at alternatives to the norm? Just off the top of my head, I came up with 5 different ways to earn money for schools.
Box Tops 4 Education
Nestle Pure Life Go Play Labels
Cincinnati Bell CB Learn Program
Good Search
Campbell’s Labels for Education
Tyson's Project A+ (Labels) for schools
Another option would be to sell discount cards for local businesses. The youth football league in the city where I grew up used to sell them all the time and the people would buy them. Each business listed would give the cardholder 10% off their order. The league was earning money and the cardholder was saving money so it was a “win-win” situation.
What are some ways that your school earns “extra” money?

Thanks for the link on my site. I am in full accordance with you. Here is my original post on saving money for your school. I even gave examples of how much the schools could make, if everyone cut their box tops. It would be amazing, and FREE.
Also, don't forget Kroger Cards, Target Cards, Meijer Cards, Tyson Labels, Donating Cell phones ( they get $40 a pop for old ones at my school ), recycling ( I take my recycling to them so they earn money ), etc. I think I have most of them listed in my post. But, there are SOOO many ways!!You should join your schools PTA and head the committee. I am on our school's fundraising committee ( and I only work on the free aspect, because I also don't buy into all that other stuff ).
OK..I forgot the original post. Here it is: http://moneysavingmethods.blogspot.com/2008/01/donate-for-free.html
