My Shopping Trips - Week of 5/3/09

Last week, we got out of the house to use some $10 off $10 purchase coupons I had. We also hit the grocery store. I couldn't pass up some of the deals they had. It wasn't the best grocery trip I've had but it wasn't bad considering I haven't been to the grocery (except to get bread, milk, eggs and maybe some produce) in quite a while.

Kroger
I stocked up on chicken this week. There were a few other items (nope, not the candy but the youngest was with me). Total OOP: $60.15 - saved 54%

Meijer
We stopped in here for just a few deals. I had to pick up snacks for the baseball game this week too. The toilet paper was 50% off so I picked up two packages even though we still had some in our stockpile.
Total OOP: $22.76 - saved 52%

JCPenny
I had a $10 off $10 or more purchase so I picked up a sleeveless shirt for each of the boys. Total OOP: $2.11 - saved 98%

Dick's Sporting Goods
I had a coupon for $10 off $10 or more purchase. I picked me up another t-shirt. Total OOP: $5.98 - saved 73%

Dots
I had a coupon for $10 off $10 or more purchase. I picked up a pair of sunglasses and flip flops.
Total OOP: $1.07 - saved 91%

Helzberg Diamonds
I received a coupon for a free pearl bracelet. Since we were in the area of the mall, we stopped by to pick up the free bracelet.

Total OOP: 0 - saved 100%

My Shopping Trip - Week of 4/19/09

Another slow week for grocery shopping. I probably should go do some major grocery shopping some time soon - maybe tomorrow or Monday (or wait until it rains).

Entenmann's Outlet Bakery
I stopped by the outlet bakery again this week to get some fresh bread products. Total OOP: $4.14

WalMart
My youngest son has really grown over the past year. He didn't have many spring/summer clothes so we went out to pick up some play outfits. I stopped by the consignment shop but couldn't see paying $4-$7 for used t-shirts when I could go to Walmart and get him new ones for the same price.

My Shopping Trip - Week of 4/12/09

It was a pretty boring shopping week for me. There wasn't a spectacular savings. We didn't really need a lot of groceries as we are still trying to use up some of our stockpile. I made two meals this week from Easter leftovers.

Sam's Club
With baseball season comes team treats. I picked up juice and chips. Not the healthiest of treats but it was easy. My older son will also use the chips for lunch. Total OOP: $27.60

Entenmann's Outlet Bakery
I need to restock on a few Weight Watcher items.Total OOP: $4.08

Kroger
This was a quick trip. I really need to get some produce, cat food, and yogurt. There were a few items that weren't planned. I had to take my youngest son with me which always results in unplanned purchases.Total OOP: $37.29 (saved 46%)

Walmart
I really don't care to shop at Walmart. It seems like they always miss scan coupons. It took me 20 minutes to check out with these few items. I went in looking for a printer table to go with a desk that I'm looking to purchase and decided to pick up a few free items while I was there as well as a light bulb for my curio cabinet. Total OOP: $3.54

My Shopping Trip - Week of 4/5/09

This week I headed out to pick up a few things that we were needing. We really needed eggs and bread. We got an extra dozen eggs to color on Saturday afternoon then turn them into egg salad on Monday.

Meijer
I had the kids with me so there were a few items that I wouldn't have picked up without them - lunchables and Dippin' Dots. I picked up a Lean Cuisine to have at my mother's house on Easter - along with a few veggies she is having. She's having a lot of items that I mentioned I would be avoiding.

My Shopping Trips: March

I haven't been posting my shopping trips lately because there hasn't been much to post about. Most of my trips this month were for bread, eggs, milk and produce. We've been trying to use up our stockpile since our cabinets and freezer were busting. We don't have a pantry but I do have a couple "extra" cabinets that have been dedicated to stockpile (except for the bottom unit is now for outdoor toys). We've made some progress. I might get back to monthly grocery shopping this month.

Here's a couple of my recent trips:

CVS (March 28) - no picture
I had a $10 ECB from the CVS Advisory Panelthat I needed to use before it expired. I picked up some eye drops for my fiance'. He needed them since he had just had lasik (perfect time). I also got me a Fuze Empower drink.

Total: $0.73 and earned $2.00 ECB

Walmart - two stops
A candy bar is missing from the first picture...my son couldn't wait until we drove home.

First Total: $0.32 Second Total: $7.42

Franklin Covey
I wouldn't have stopped on the 22nd for the free planner, if we weren't in the area of the mall. We had went to the Thunder Nationals near the mall so I stopped.

My Shopping Trip - Week of 2/15/09

I got my shopping trip done first thing this week - Sunday morning! I headed to Meijer. I've had my eyes on a pair of clearance Addidas tennis shoes for a couple weeks. I went in to get them and pick up a few other items. We were in need of bread and eggs.

Meijer

There was a sign in the shoe department for additional 50% off clearance. I went on a search for these shoes. I found the empty box...the shoes were mixed in with the regular priced mens shoes. I probably had the security cameras following as I searched for them. I found them, checked out and then went back for groceries. It was only good through Saturday but since the sign was still hanging I got them for an additional 50% off.


Total OOP: $18.71 -- saved $52.50!

I picked up items from the Meijer Dollar Deals - buy 10 get 11th FREE as well as the eggs and bread that I went in to get. Lysol was cheaper at Meijer than Walgreens so I picked up a few bottles. A bag of my Quaker Rice Cakes are missing from the picture...I was hungry! The cookies would not have been bought had my youngest son not tagged along. Taking him cost me and extra $1.79!



Total OOP: $15.78 -- saved $30.75

I also saved on my prescriptions. I don't have pictures. I was given a prescription for Motrin 600mg and Vicodin when I had my tooth pulled. I didn't have to have them filled because I kept my prescription from August when I had my other wisdom tooth pulled. So, it was NOTHING OOP on the prescriptions. I think I only took one last time and one this time and the previous prescription was written for 16.

My Shopping Trip - Week of 1/25/09

This was a stock up week for me.

Target
I picked up the Kashi Bars here instead of Rite Aid (which would have been $0.25 per box cheaper) because our store normally don't have them. I wanted to make sure I got them while the coupons were still good. There was a Lunchable too but my fiance and son were heading out the door and he took it with him. Total OOP: $9.80 -- Saved $25.04

Kroger
We went the afternoon the snow and sleet started (Tuesday). The one thing I like most about our Kroger's store - they do an excellent job keep the shelves stocked and restocked during bad weather. I went for their Mega Mix & Match sale. When I found it was going to be a two week sale, I decided to put it off a week since we really did NEED anything. It gave me time to use up some of the other items in our cabinets and freezer to make room for these items. Some of the items will be used on our Super Bowl menu (which will be up soon). Total OOP: $35.23 -- saved $85.41

Meijer
This was another stock up stop. Total OOP: $18.25 -- saved $29.93

Rite Aid I couldn't pass up the $3.99 cat/kitten food. This is the cats fave! Plus I had a 2 - dollar off coupons plus a buy 2 Kitten Chow, Get a free Cat Chow...deal! The kids have been bothering me for the Reese's Eggs so we picked up two of them. I don't know what it is about those things but they love them! Total OOP: $10.44 (total was $20.44 - used $10 Gift Certificate) - saved $36.86
**Will get back $10.99 back in rebates - $.55 profit!

My Shopping Trip - Week of 1/18/09

This was a pretty dull week for me. I was going to go to Kroger for their Mega Mix & Match Sale but since it will be continuing through next week I'm going to hold off until probably Monday with the ad change. There's really nothing that we need. My fiance will be heading out of town again on Monday so cooking will be simplified for 2-3 nights.

Rite Aid
I headed to Rite Aid to pick up a few things that we needed and to cash in on a few of their Single Check Rebates (SCR). We hadn't tried the Pringle Selects but had been wanting to. Since they were only $.99 after coupon, I picked up two of them. The Jalapeno Ranch were great (haven't tried the others). All my monitors that I have picked up over the past few weeks will be donated this coming week. Then there was some more free gum!

My total OOP: $7.49 - I will receive a Denise Austin Workout video and $3.50 in rebates.

My Shopping Trips - Week of 1/11/09

UPDATED 1/14/09: I added my Rite Aid trip...forgot it the other night.

I haven't really looked at the grocery store ad to see if there's anything that I want to pick up this week. We still have enough meat to get us through this week so I may hold off until next week. I'll update this post and move it up, if I end up heading out to the grocery or find some other deals this week. CVS I had 13 ECBs that needed to be used 1/11/09. We headed to the store. Our health & beauty stockpile is just about at capacity so I decided to pick up toilet paper and Aquafresh toothpaste (I had $2 CRT for both of them) and earn a few ECBs back. I haven't been doing too much shopping at CVS lately.
**Those are the wrappers to the Christmas cat toys that my son wanted to get for the kittens...they loved them.

Total OOP: $0.15 -- Earned 4 ECB

Walgreens
I purchased my items for the $15 Pepsi/Frito Lay rebate. We're not pop drinkers but it will come in handy when we have guests over or our Memorial Day picnic/pool party. You can read about the Walgreens deals here. I found one package of Lysol Wipes that were Buy 1, Get 1 Free. I tried to find two so I could get 4 tubs for $1.79. If you are heading out to pick up the Lysol Wipes, be sure to look for the Buy1, Get 1 Free packages.

Total OOP: $29.08 -- Earned $10 RR and will get $15 in coupons from Pepsi/Frito Lay.

Meijer
I decided to head out to pick up some items for our stockpile and do our monthly grocery shopping. I didn't get any meat since we are heading out to a butcher on Thursday night (I want to compare prices). Plus there really weren't any "good" deals on meat that I saw.

If you'd like a breakdown, just let me know and I will get my shopping list spreadsheet posted. I did have to get some rain checks. Since I have to take back the lunch meat that I bought, I'll check to see if they have them in stock plus I want to pick up more blueberries for the freezer (they go great in my Blueberry Muffin Frosted Mini Wheats...YUM-YUM). Total OOP: $45.70 -- saved 61% ($71) I also earned a CRT for 70 Box Tops!

Kroger
I don't know why I went here. I had a list and purchased the items from it. It was an awful trip!! But I'm still way under budget for the month so I guess I'll get over it.
Total OOP: $37.03 -- saved 40% ($24)

Walmart
The kids wanted to go check out the toys and video games (aka blow a little bit of their money). Plus we had 3 PS2 games to return to game stop and a Wii game that we had to return at Walmart. I grabbed a few coupons before heading out and picked up some free items while I was there. Total OOP: $.43

Rite Aid
Since my youngest son still wears pull ups to bed, I decided to head out and pick up some. Our stock was low - like 2 pull ups left. Plus I had planned to go to Rite Aid last week to get the monitors so I could get the Denise Austin Workout Video.

Here's what I got (one of the Reece's Whips are missing): Total OOP: $20.78 - - Will get $6 back in rebates, Denise Austin Workout video, and $10 Rite Aid Gift Card! Plus I will use the send in for the Caregivers rebate.

My Shopping Trips - Week of 1/4/09

Another week of no grocery shopping with the exception of bread and a few other items needed for dinner. My fiance is heading out of town again next week so no need to go grocery shopping this weekend either! It's been over a month now (and we still have quite a supply of meat - mostly from our pig).

Kroger
I picked up my P&G items during there $5 off purchase of $25 P&G items sale. I had a coupon for every item that I purchased. I really didn't need any of the items so I picked up items that we would use in the future. I wanted the coupons that I told you about in this post. Total OOP: $35.57 - Saved 50%

Walgreens
There wasn't really anything I needed from this store either. However, I got some really good deals on items that we use. I have found that the gum comes in handy for fighting off some of the cravings that I've been having.Total OOP: $10.38 - will get back $2.75 on gift card (rebate)

CVS
I had a few ECBs that were to expire on 1/11/09 so we made a late night stop by CVS. I picked up two monitors which will be donated. The candy bar was for the little one.
Total OOP: $1.03 -- no ECBs earned, saved $184.xx

My Shopping Trip - Week of 12/21/08

Ok, I'm a little late posting this but it's been pretty crazy around here.

Walgreens
I was able to get to Walgreens Monday morning to get the blow dryer. The lady at the cosmetic counter had two of them in the back and gave me one of them!! I did two transactions: one for the blow dryer then one for the straightener. Total OOP: $10.70

Victoria's Secret
I had a 2 - $10 off coupon, 25% off code and a secret rewards card (a secret value of $10, $50, $100 or $500) that all expired last week. I don't normally by myself stuff but I don't think my fiance or boys would look good in their stuff. So, I went shopping!
