My Weekend 5/2-5/4

I thought I would take a moment to share with you a little bit about my weekend.

Friday night, we had dinner for my niece’s birthday. It was surprise for her. We ate at a local place, Bullwinkle’s. It was good food. I had looked at the menu before we got to the restaurant so I knew exactly what I could get and stay within my point range. I did!!

Saturday, we had soccer pictures at 8:00am and 1:00pm with games that followed. The games were cancelled due to the rain. Then my oldest son attended a birthday party that evening. My Saturday night was pretty uneventful with the exception of my trip to CVS!

Sunday was the busiest day of the weekend (seems to be the pattern). I actually got up out of bed early to walk on the treadmill and clip coupons before heading out the grocery. The boys and my fiancĂ© headed out to the “property” to check on the pigs. I went to the grocery (without kids!!) and cleaned the house (mopping floors and everything). Then I made my way out to the property. I should have probably mowed the grass but I was worn out from all the cleaning that I did around the house and chasing the kittens. Like last weekend, I did a lot of walking around the property but not nearly as much as I had done last weekend.

How awesome is that?!?

Menu Plan Monday 5/5/2008

Did I do a menu last week?!?! I did but sure didn't follow it. I'm not sure what happened with my menu last week. I've placed a lot of the items that I didn't cook last week back on this week's menu. This week I'm going to try to really stick to the menu. Soccer games were rained out on Saturday so they are making them up during this week. **As back up on any night, I do have two frozen meals - Southwestern Casserole and Baked Ziti.

Monday – Smoked Sausage with Mushrooms and Onions, Pasta Roni, salad

Tuesday – Grilled Teriyaki Pork Chops with pineapples, mashed potatoes, pork 'n beans
Wednesday - Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls

Thursday - Stuffed Peppers – not sure what we will have with them
Update: Changing this to Cheesy Enchiladas...look for recipe to be posted tomorrow.

FridayCrock Pot Pizza

Saturday - Dinner out - concert night (honey's going to take me out to dinner before the concert!!)

Sunday - Salisbury Steak, rice, green beans

Overall thought: Awful day! As I've said in the past, I eat when I am bored...and today I was just that - BORED! I really need to make some changes not to my diet but everyday things, like my job! I know the old saying "the grass isn't always greener on the other side" but it's not green on this side either. I'm not happy where I am and I think that plays a part in my diet.

Day 84, Food and Exercise Log

Let's see if I can get the activity levels up today...

Daily Allowance Points: 24
Weekly Allowance Points: 35

Breakfast:
French Vanilla Iced Cappucino (homemade) (4 points)
Fiber One Cereal (4 points)

Snack:
2 Chocolate Chip Oatmeal cookies (4 points)
Aquafina Active (0 points)

Dinner:

Daily Points Used: 24
Weekly Points Used: 3

Overall thought: It wasn't too bad of a day - it was a busy one. I didn't stop until I hit the bed and even then I had trouble getting to sleep. I was on a roll with cleaning the house that lunch flew by and it was time to head out to help with the pigs. So, I grabbed 2 cookies a water and headed for the door. If I would have remembered that I picked up turkey breast I would have made a sandwich. I need to lay off the cookies!!

Day 83, Food and Exercise Log

Oh, I hate when I over sleep. We had soccer pictures at 8:20 this morning and I didn't get up until 7:30. The actual soccer games were canceled due to the rain. Thank goodness! After a late start to my morning, I needed a soccer break!

Daily Allowance Points: 24
Weekly Allowance Points: 35

Breakfast:
Tim Horton's Iced Cappucino (made with white milk) (4 points)
2 Peanut Butter cookies (3 points)

Lunch:
2 Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies (4 points)

Dinner:
2 soft tacos (homemade - not Taco Bell) (8 points)
- to lower the points, I used Old El Paso Cheese and Salsa Sauce versus shredded cheese.
Apple Martini (2 points)

Daily Points Used: 21
Weekly Points Used: 0

Overall thought: Even though I was under points, my activity level was at extreme lows. I think the weather played a big part in it but it's not like my treadmill, weights or stability ball sits out in the rain. I really need to be consistent with my workout. They do say a day of rest is good...so I guess I can count that as my day or rest.
